I have gone 9 times in 9 years, my 10th trip is in 11 days.

Only once have I ever seen an issue, and it was my fault for giving the kid 5 bucks USD.. Never again.

The issue here is that 95% of the time these fuck tards go to an all inclusive, drink their shit face off and start crap with a local. Dont fuck with the locals, dont drink your face off so you dont even know where you are.
Dont look for drugs in any way.

Hell I take the local bus everywhere. Learn to speak the language and dont lip people off, show some respect.

Let me guess, you learnt to speak the language because you look Mexican/Spanish or are Mexican. Mexico is fine if you can blend in like John "no chest" Romano. If you don't blend in, certain places in Mexico is a crap shoot.

I believe Bench had said that certain places in Mexico have US ex-pats there. I think he said his father/parents live in a pretty nice area (that is not a resort) where mostly ex-pats with money live.

Just got back from Cozumel. 4th time visiting Mexico and it's my last unless work forces me there. Pyramids are fantastic and the all inclusive resorts in Cabo are great...the rest can suck my balls. Pushy vendors, vatos with chips on their shoulders but smiling to your face (amigo! amigo!), drunk american tourists and nothing but vacuums sucking money from your pockets the moment you get off the plane.

Honduras is interesting though...

I've been to cancun and alcupulco, and can say I don't really have the desire to go back. It was dirty, and everyone wanted a "tip". In line at McDonald's, manager walked out in the line and told us he'd move us up for a tip. Seriously, like it was a night club. A guy I know was pissing outside of a nightclub, and the cops took his shoes, watch, and $200. To each his own I guess, but those people are ruining a good thing, as tourism is easy business if you have warm weather, nice beaches, and a safe place.
