So tragic... What happened to that piece of shit waste of life that killed the cop? There should be laws where someone commits a murder or purposedly imposes serious bodily harm/injury. They should receive the same pain and death as their victims( given CLEAR physical evidence ex: like this video).
NO DAYZ OFF!!!!

The cop gave him way to many opportunities.... As soon as he saw the firearm he should have been firing at him, not screaming to put the gun down like a moron.

The guy who shot the cop is an absolute psycho.  The cop should have never let that guy get back to his car.

psycho is the wrong term..

I would have shot him when he ran towards me the first time.

That Cop lost control of the situation right from the beginning.   How he handled the situation is a text book example of how to handle a situation IMPROPERLY.   I'm assuming it's a case study now.

No, he was just outclassed by a combat trained veteran.  He was screaming because he was shot in his extremities.  He did shoot him in the stomach but he wasn't trained in dealing with someone using supressive fire.

According to wikipedia the shooter was found guilty of murder on January 28, 2000, and was sentenced to death on January 30, 2000.

The cop was in a pretty good position.  He should have opened up fire as soon as he saw the man reaching back into his truck.  Remember the video clip someone put up with the Mexican named Ernie.  The cop didn't hesitate when Ernie reached back into the car and he is alive.

How do you deal with someone using suppressive fire then? What I don't understand is, how a vietnam vet would still have skills even years after using them in combat. Do marines actually train shitloads of drills and simulations similar to how a fighter would spar?

fter being captured, Brannan was asked why he killed Dinkheller. His response was, "Because he let me."

Seriously, as soon as he started dancing around acting like a fool the officer should have cuffed and contained him. The officer made a lot of bad choices.

Suppressive fire is used to keep the opposition's head down and paralyzed while you get into position to deliver the kill shot.  Best way to defend it is to immediately fire back with aimed precision....make every shot count....but he shouldn't have let him grab his gun...should have immediately lit his ass up.

Better to do the paperwork and sit in court than to be dead

Uh, derp bro. Yes, yes they do. They invest so much time and effort into people to make them good at their job, no one ever won a war by dying for their country.

Muscle memory. I don't know much about how they were trained during the Vietnam period, but they drilled us enough that we could execute practically asleep.

i already answered this.  if that had been you, he would have shot you in the back, but vissy would have been able to go back to the truck, screaming and bullshit.  you're in the deep south, prove me wrong!
