this guy is a moron. You see a lot of these homeless are lazy, drug addled whores. Should tax payers subsidize them? quite obviously no, personal accountability is required. Likewise studying Mars may be invaluable, for climate reason, for cosmological knowledge etc. Progression can't be held back by any amount of people, for if it did we would all be in the streets. I'm sure a lot of scientific knowledge seems useless to an illiterate like this.

Yeah lets spend money on bringing dirt from mars instead of fixing the problems on our planet. You wana talk about progress? How about the wars that are being waged by the US that are destroying whole nations? Last time I checked the US is not only screwing others but screwing itself.

17 trillion dollars?

Yeah humanity needs a wake up call, there are, but only a minute minority of people pays heed. The other are too dumb and disillusioned with tv, movies, music, media, games, and other distractions to realize it.

Money should be spent on fixing problems with humans themselves and not going on nerd adventures. One step at a time. When we're in a state that we can say we have no hungry person on the street begging and some sense of justice, we can talk about extravagant adventures about finding the composition of dirt on mars.

And Hugo chavez, you tool, this was specifically in the politics section for a reason.

Your short sightedness is appalling.

We will eventually have to leave earth, new compounds can possibly be made out of new discoveries, the only way to fix our problems is to move forward and become more efficient. Instead of living in a bubble we developed anti-biotics, science is the way forward.
