An official familiar with the decision says IOC leaders have dropped wrestling from the program for the 2020 Olympics. In a surprise decision Tuesday, the offficial tells The Associated Press that the IOC executive board decided to retain modern pentathlon and remove wrestling instead. The official spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the decision hadn't been announced yet. The IOC board reviewed the 26 sports on the current Olympic program. Eliminating one sport allows the International Olympic Committee to add a new sport to the program later this year.

Itäs not wrestling fault. It's the new stupid rules with makes it extremly boring to watch. You shouldn't reward passiveness and thena short burst of action. Change them and start a new federation to get rid of allt he corruption and wrestling will be popular again. First Ara gets screwed twice. Then Lidberg gets screwed.  I guess a lot of awesome wrestlers will look into mma now. |

Speed walking, trampoline, speed walking, in. One of the oldest of the Olympic sports..out. Idiots. The training and physical punishment these guys go through is brutal and the Olympics is what a lot of kids in HS strive for. The IOC just killed any dreams of that.
