I will give up eating fish on Friday's, substituting chicken and red meat instead.

I'm going to try to stop reading and posting every waking hour on the Nutrition board (no promises though - it's a pretty exhilarating place!)

I asked a guy at work today if he bumped his head, he said "No, its ash Wednesday" then gave me a horrified look that I didn't know.

Oh well... I give up nothing for lent, nothing against it but I dont get into the cult stuff..

I'd show you but I'm too old; I'm too tired; I'm too fuckin' blind. If I were the man I was five years ago I'd take a FLAME-THROWER to this place! I've been around, you know? There was a time I could see. And I have seen boys like these, younger than these, their arms torn out, their legs ripped off. But there isn't nothin' like the sight of an amputated spirit; there is no prosthetic for that. The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right, greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind.

you high?

The question is, “Do I have a God complex?” Which makes me wonder if this…lawyer, has any idea as to the kind of grades one has to receive in college, to be accepted to a top medical school? Or if you have the vaguest clue about how talented someone must be to lead a surgical team? I have an M.D. from Harvard. I am board certified in cardiothoracic medicine and trauma surgery. I have been awarded citations from seven different medical boards in New England and I am never, ever sick at sea. So I ask you; when someone goes into that chapel and they fall on their knees and they pray to God that their wife doesn’t miscarry or that their daughter doesn’t bleed to death or that their mother doesn’t suffer acute neural trauma from postoperative shock, who do you think they’re praying to? Now you go ahead and read your bible-Dennis. And you go to your church and with any luck you might even win the annual raffle. But if you’re looking for God, he was in operating room number two, on November 17th, and he doesn’t like being second guessed. You ask me if I have a God complex? Let me tell you something: I am God.

I donno I'm kinda baffled by this shit. I found out it was pancake on tuesday which shit baked me, because I thought lent was all about easter, not christmas. Anyhow it took me about a day and a half to realize were closer to easter than christmas.

My sense of time is fucked.

i went to mass tonight.   it was very crowded.  i was unable to stay the entire time, but it did feel nice to unwind my head and soak it in and just think.  No phone, no internet, just getbig me and my thoughts.  Very serene.

i noticed I was the biggest dude in there, muscle and leans wise.  Also the pews are WAY smaller than I remember.  My belly was growling and all around me heard.  I had two old ladies come into the packed church and i gave them my seat.  They were so little and helpless.  I think church was a good experience, I haven't been in a while but look fwd to going back just to think and pray for some strength, guidance, etc.
