I know he was killing people at random and in a fire fight with them, but cops shouldn't take the punishment into their hands, that isn't their job or right.

Yes, I agree completely it was planned.  But they didn't have all the info. They didn't know who was in teh basement.

and it's not exactly legal to go burning down houses, then keeping away firefighters, in order to kill a suspect.

If that charred corpse is indeed that of Dorner, it simply means the taxpayers don't have to subsizide this bum for 20 years before he gets executed.

dude?   You're the one who stood there for months and said we didn't have "proof" that herman cain  was a shady cheater, despite all the allegations.

NOW we have a whole lot of cops trying to kill Dorner before he can go to trial... what evidence do you have that he killed four people?  The word of the police who executed him?

There is protocol and it involves the suspect being arrested, read his rights, tried and if found guilty, convicted. It does not involve shoot old ladies delivering newspapers in a totally different color truck, or shoot a white man or burning a cabin he is suspected to be in.

There is s SYSTEM that is in place for a reason.

What these so called cops did was cold blooded murder and there is a motive.
