Det. Hassan Hamdy, who shot into a car on the Grand Central Parkway last year, was not indicted in the death of the driver, Noel Polanco.

A Queens grand jury voted not to indict a veteran NYPD detective, rejecting a witness account that he fatally shot an unarmed man in an act of road rage on the Grand Central Parkway. The decision on Thursday not to indict Detective Hassan Hamdy stunned the family of Noel Polanco, the 22-year-old National Guardsman killed Oct. 4.
Witnesses said Polanco had been drinking before he left work.
Cops said they pulled over Polanco’s Honda Fit about 5 a.m. after he twice cut off an unmarked NYPD Emergency Service Unit van. During the stop, Hamdy fired a single shot through an open window. The bullet missed the front seat passenger, DeFerrari, and hit Polanco. Rodriguez was sleeping in the backseat of the car at the time.
Hamdy claimed he opened fire because it appeared Polanco was reaching under his seat for a gun instead of putting up his hands as he was ordered to.
DeFerrari had said the gunfire appeared to be the result of “road rage” and that Polanco didn’t have a chance to put up his hands before he was shot.

Except that.... there won't be that revolution because people complain about things on boards like this, bars, and in their living rooms. To actually DO something about it takes effort. Hell, the politicians know this, that's why they do what ever they want and could care less how it impacts us. They know we'll bitch among ourselves and then turn on Walking Dead and American Idol and forget about it in 10 minutes.

When the government takes 40% of our hard earned money in state and local taxes, allows lobbyist to buy them golfing trips to far away paradises, remodels office bathrooms for a quarter of a million dollars, allows guns to be sold to cartel mules, starts wars for no apparent reason, and all we do is qoute things Limbaugh, O'Reilly or Jon Stewart say about it and threaten to "do something" I lose faith in any revolution taking place. Honestly, how much is enough? Where do we draw the line? 50%, 60%. I'm afraid we have become a nation of sheep, fooled by a 2 party system that gives us the illusion of input in a government that has run amok years ago.
