It'll take a lot more than a few mls of oil to cause a pulmonary embolism, but if you directly injected a full syringe into a vein then it'd send you into a brutal coughing fit at the very worst. You'd have to do a very shallow injection and deliberately enter a vein though, it doesn't just happen accidentally.

Now it takes at least ten seconds for an entire cc to be pushed through the syringe and if it was in a vein trust me you would know within 2 seconds of you pushing and that is not enough to take a trip to emerge unless it was actual poison.

To hit the proper spot in your glutes, divide one cheek into 4 quarters then pick the top left for your left side and the top right for your right side. There is almost no feeling in this area and it will be smooth as butter.

Always make sure any air is out of the syringe, and always aspirate before injection. For glutes---  upper outer quadrant.
