Flipping through, and just saw some dude get played of the stage for taking too long, it was pretty embarrassing. Does that usually happen, is it the norm?

Dunno, a special effects dude I think. I just thought it was funny because it was the theme from "Jaws".

What a bunch or self congratulatory douche bags. I like the occasional movie as much as the next girl but enough with a million awards. Oscar, sag, golden globe. Christ. Then the yenta's babbling on "who are you wearing?" your mom, that's who I'm wearing. piss off. In la they break through regular news when they announce the nominees for the Oscar. Like they cured halitosis or some shit. Meltdown complete

. Yes I saw it too. I'm glad they did it to him as the Music was warning him in the background but he kept on talking anyway.

There were only a hand ful of movies that were even watched last year, and you knew watching them that they were basically oscar bate. \\
no mysterious no surprise, just uber dull.
It was like 5 or 6 six equally good movies, taking tunrs getting awards.

Yes indeed I would. I am pretty sure I have watched a few more Oscar shows then most Getbiggers, don't you suppose? I didn't really get into watching these kinds of shows before I was married. My wife likes them, which suggests we've tuned in to the Oscars for at least the last 48 years. Stupid, huh? Even she thought the this years performance was terrible.
.....as would jaguar.

Very boring movies as well.
Silver lining playbook and the likes.
What happened to such classics like "Over the Top" with Sly Stallone, Double Impact with Jean Claude, Predator with Arnold etc
