Between the BS South of the border, and the bureaucratic BS North of the border, how the heck is the public suppose to have any faith in the system?
A lawyer friend of mine is defending a Police officer who has been charged with "Dereliction of Duty".
What did he do that was sooo bad that warranted that charge?
Failing to properly investigate racist taunts against....
HIMSELF!Can you believe it?
The officer is being hauled before a review board for failing to investigate racist taunts against himself.
It seems Officer Muirhead was called to investigate an illegal drunken bush party in York Region.
The drunken revellers didn't appreciate having their illegal party broken up, and a few hurled racist epithets at the officer. The officer simply shook his head, and made a judgement call to ignore the racist taunts.
THAT choice to ignore a drunk who wanted to use the N word now has him up on charges.
With all the bloody abuse of power & authority police officers engage in, needlessly escalating situations and being dickheads to the public, one officer makes a judgement call that being called the N word wasn't worth fighting about, or pursuing further, ...and now he's in front of a Police Review Board? Unreal!
What should he have done? Pulled his service revolver out and shot the guy dead?
