Upstate Democrat to Gun Supporters: You’re All a Bunch of “Gun-Toting Tea Party Psychotards”

http://menrec.com/upstate-democrat-to-gun-supporters-youre-all-a-bunch-of-gun-toting-tea-party-psychotards Hudson city Alderman, Dave Marston, has found himself in a bit of hot water after an e-mail exchange that saw him refer to Second Amendment supporters as “gun-toting Tea Party psychotards”, implying that all gun supporters are “unemployed”, threatened to “beat you barbarians back”, and tosses in a Nazi reference for good measure.
Apparently Mr. Marston didn’t get his party’s memo concerning the “new tone” in politics.
The controversy began over a meeting scheduled this evening in the city of Hudson in which Marston serves. The Hudson Common Council is set to discuss a possible all-out gun ban on city owned property, even for citizens with valid pistol permits. A similar ban in Washington, D.C., effective in 1976, was struck down in 2008 by the Supreme Court, with the majority opinion citing that the Constitution provides an individual right to bear arms.
If the Hudson proposal is passed, Republican Mayor William Hallenbeck, Jr. would likely veto the measure. But the problems would not stop there, as that veto could subsequently be overridden by a two-thirds majority vote – the Council is comprised of 10 Democrats and one unregistered member.
In a direct reply to this evening’s meeting, Johanna Johnson-Smith (JJ), a main organizer for the first NY SAFE Act protest rally in Albany last month, e-mailed the Alderman advising him of her intended presence at the meeting. The e-mail refers to the overwhelming opposition that law enforcement officers have toward the SAFE Act, and how that Act seeks to disarm law-abiding citizens. JJ’s most heated comments involve “Democrats and Liberals who have never given a donkey’s behind about the Constitutional Rights of the people who employ them”.
In response, the good Alderman goes on a tirade directed not only at JJ, but the entire movement of Second Amendment supporters.
Here is Marston’s response (emphasis is mine):
Dear Joanna Johnson-Smith,
Its really neat that all you gun toting tea party psychotards are so interested in the goings on of our little City, even though I find it amazing that you don’t have any other pressing issues before you in New Lebanon. On the other hand, I guess its not surprising, considering you ideologues aren’t interested in actual policy, but rather grandstanding on mythical narratives of victimization.
Two things: The only spit here is the white stuff frothing on the ends of that rotten little mouth of yours from which you spew this hateful ignorant trash. And a donkeys behind? The rabid ignorance of the fringe is best illustrated by its sad metaphors, I mean seriously, thank you for the laughs.
By all means, come on down, we’ll be happy to beat you barbarians back with the clubs of reason & responsibility, radical lunatics that you are. And say, a quick ProTip, since you’re the “organizer” for unemployed guns nuts USA. Next time you think these unhinged rants will change the mind of anyone who has even a modicum of intelligence, you might instead just go back down into your basement & watch another episode of wheel-of-fortune. It’ll certainly be just as effective. Remember: there are millions of Eagle Scout God Worshiping Patriots who find you & your radical ilk as disgraceful to American Democracy as the Brown Shirt jackboots you act like. I happen to be just one of them. Good Luck.
Best Regards,
David Marston
The Brown Shirts were an arm of Germany’s Nazi party meant to maintain law and order, and played a key role in Hitler’s rise to power.
The entire e-mail exchange can be found on Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin’s Facebook page.
It would appear that when Mr. Marston refers to having “a modicum of intelligence”, he is being accurate and literal in his measurement. How a public official is unaware that an e-mail involving such venomous language could be shared across the internet is beyond comprehension.
On a side note, Marston was the candidate of choice for the SEIU this past election - the same SEIU that recently tried to organize a pro-gun control rally in Albany by teaming up with Obama’s campaign arm, and paying protesters to attend.
Make no mistake, this is an all-out assault on law-abiding citizens in New York, and Marston’s comments represent what a good percentage of politicians feel about gun owners. Democrats and some Republicans in New York are trying to disarm you. They are trying to marginalize you as being on the fringe. And they are trampling all over the Constitution.
Marston, while only being a local Alderman, is a primetime example of the disgrace that has become the political scene in New York.
The Empire State is becoming a dictatorship.
