Better that he look small then he look bloated. Some bodybuilders simply get fat when they age. Zane is amazingly fit looking for his advanced age of seventy years. I challenge most of you to look this good when you are his age.

You'd think, but I suspect it isn't that simple. As one ages their metabolism often slows down. When this happens, people sometimes gain weight. Of course you have to eat too. But what seemed like a reasonable portion when you were thirty years old can be excessive when you are 70 years of age. All my life, I had to work to gain weight. In the last few years, I've found gaining weight is easy while losing it is hard. Although I eat a lot less then I once did, I know that I am also not as active as I was prior to retirement.

I dont think you understand what "over-eat" means.
Overeating is consuming more calories than you burn, the quantity of food has nothing to do with it.

exactly

and most peeps think that they aren't eating that many cals, but if they would sit down and analyze everything they eat with a calorie counting booking in hand, then they'd see that they actually eat many more cals than they think they do

I fully understand the relationship between calories and metabolism. I am just not obsessed by these things. Clearly, when some folks get older they slow down some, therefore burning fewer calories. It only makes sense to consume less calories if you are not burning them as rapidly.

I have the impression that you don't have personal experience being a senior citizen like I do.

Single people who frequently eat alone, have the ability to completely control what they eat without interference. Those of us who have partners, sometimes eat what is prepared regardless of whether it is healthy or low in calories or not. Such was the case with breakfast today. My wife cooked bacon and heated sweet rolls for breakfast. The total caloric intake what probably through the roof not to mention all the carbs and fats in this meal. I am so full that I don't think I will need to eat again for a month.
