Where a woman can be in shape, but it takes a concerted effort to do so. And she has been with Dex for awhile, time off of the weights, helping him prep, and eating may have contributed to this...

Yeah, she's probably good for Dexter because she knows the ins and outs of the business, and is willing to put up with it. That counts for a lot.

i'm surprised she let herself go like that considering she's into the lifestyle as well. Plus she can get all the supplies she needs from Dex to stay in shape. She must be happy as hell cause most women will put on weight once thier established into the relashionship.
