Well it seems that all Nike does now is produce "re-issues" of their older better designs like Haurache and various Air Jordans. They have the Nike Shox, but the designs have stagnated. And Gen Y---well they are not innovative, all they seem to do is regurgitate the 80s-90s....

Humm. You're right. Most of their stuff seem to be rehash. And the new designs, I.e. Jordan's, lebrons. are just butt ugly. Well, at least I still got new balance, they has never been cool so I don't have to worried about them being a fad.  ;D

I'm not sure of the stats, but for years, New Balance sold the most shoes in the DC area. That was New Balance Central---mostly the 574s in Blue or Grey.
The best selling Nikes I believe are Air Force 1's in all white.
And I think the best selling Reeboks are the Classics and Court C's---both in all white.

Nike does all these re-issues of shoes that I had in college and charges a ton for different color ways.
Makes no sense to me.

And their Free line is probably the most innovative---yet it's the least complicated. No air bubbles, no "Shox" columns, just some grooved rubber.

all white air force 1's are so 90's tho.
I like new balance for running because you can go to their store and they measure your feet. I'm flat footed, ,my feet used to hurt when i ran. not anymore.

Always A Fresh Pair of White on Whites

There was a time when everyone who was anyone had a closet full of white-on-white Forces. Then Baron Davis signed with Reebok, Dame Dash bought PRO-Keds, and the world moved on. Well, most of the world anyway. There's no denying that the classic white-on-whites go good with anything, and they remain a summer staple, but damn man, try something else for once. Diddy won't mind.

Golfer Rory Mcilroy just embarrassed Nike this past weekend. He has everyone believing Nike's golf clubs suck.

Nike has no choice but to do reissues.  No one is buying a Kobe or LB23 shoe for 175.  i might buy a jordan special addition. other than that, i only buy new balance and dr scholls.

Nonsense.  Kobe's shoes have been dope for the last 6 years or so.  I have about 10 pairs.

Two or three times a year, I buy shoes that are $49, and often on sale.

That being said, I'd probably still prefer to buy an Air Jordan over a Wade or Lebron, etc... I just identify with that era growing up, saving my $ for a sweet Bulls windbreaker.

I'm a huge fan of sneaks.  Usually pick up a pair a month.  Mostly for casual wear or gym/cross-train.  IMO, New Balance and Adidas are where it's at, both for looks/style and function.  Saying that, I still pick up the odd pair of Nike, but mostly retro styles.  Nike has lost the edge over the last decade or so, particularly for the white demographic.  Not sure about the blacks (i.e basketball); Nike+black=white on rice, historically speaking.

New Balance has been (re)producing PF (Performance Foundation) shoes for the last 10 years or so, and they are excellent shoes for looks, quality and comfort.

I favor the 5's and the 7's over the 8's however, there are several colorways that you can get and if you want you can create your own color with Nike id.  The 8 is a great shoe.

How dare you sir!

I'll take you on the court for a game of one on one.  The advanced technology of the Kobe 8 will allow me to attack the rim at a high rate of speed jeopardizing the integrity of your ankle joint.  I will then unleash upon you a shit hurricane of post moves and fade aways so lethal that the score will be 21-0.  You will lament the purchase of whatever wack-ass, bitchmade shoe that you selected.  Following my decisive victory an army of Victoria's Secret models will rush the court to perform oral sex on me.  Disgraced, you will proceed to your local Foot Locker and purchase 2 to 4 pairs of Kobe 8's.
