I just dont get Harlem Shake and Gangnam Style, whats so cool, fun and fascinating about it ?

Surely there gotta be some of you who think this is the best there is that can explain it to me ?

People gather around a computer and laugh there asses of of it, why ?

I think they are kinda funny. The Miami Heat Harlem Shake video made me laugh. It's just one of the million internet trends that amuse people and then instantly become lame. Kinda like Tebowing. Harmless fads.

Gangnam Style is an actual song by an artist, not a meme. Just that the video became viral. And I think it's catchy.

Harlem Shake is a "meme" and I have no idea about what makes it good. Just one of those silly things that can spur on the internet.

I looked at the original video of Harlem Shake and I found it medioker but this is probably not famous because of the original video but the viral spread itself. Unlike Gangnam..

What I don't get is this. In each harlem shake video, it's just a bunch of people dancing. How is this any different than going to a club where people cant dance either. Am I missing something?

Agreed, gangnam was actually a good kpop song, and brought insight into korea pop music. To the point kpop will never top it.
Gangnam style is like a modern day stayin alive. Where it will actually be remembered by all walks of life around the world.

Harlem shake is just a joke, that is far far to calculated to be genuinely funny. It's made for the kind of people that thinks dane cook is funny.

Don't get me started on Dane Cook. He is an okay actor but i hate his standup, which he borrows from Louis CK, who does it a million times better.
