But the  majority of speaking roles in mainstream productions are written for whites and often specify white in their casting calls.  It has nothing to do with the amount of whites vs. other races who show up for auditions. In most cases, non-white actors never even get as far as the audition.

I would argue that it's obvious in most jobs who can and who can't perform and I can tell you that I've seen plenty of non-performing whites get their walking papers.
