Anyone here use to be fat and lost a tonne of weight and kept it off. How did you do it. What worked?? What do you wish you had done different?? Did you use A.A.S Ive googled this question to the moon and back and theres a lot of stupid people online. This site seems to have its share of serious and experienced lifters
I cut from 310 to 195. I'll list what I tried and how it affected weight loss.
- Intermittent fasting. Worked very well initially, easy to do, but only worked to a certain point.
- Alternate day fasting. Doing that right now, fasting 3 whole days (36 hours of zero kcal, none of that "600 kcal is still fasting"-bullshit), but making sure my calorie intake for the week is what it should be. Works great, much more productive workouts than during 18-hour IF. Assuming you eat enough carbs and only train on eating days.
- Keto. Never got it to work for fat loss. Yes, great for quick water loss, but I don't need to lose water, I need to lose lard. Also my workouts sucked when doing this.
- ECA and other stimulants. Good for waking you up after a rough night, but no discernible effect on weight loss. So stopped taking all stimulants, caffeine included, and feel great. Also: no stimulant cravings all day long.
- DNP. Fucking love the stuff. I can do it without, am doing it without, but I'm not saying I won't use it again. Cramming one month of fat loss into one week is fucking great. The associated lethargy sucks, though.
- Nothing made from wheat or containing traces of wheat. Easy because my wife has a wheat allergy. So not celiac disease, which is a piece of cake
, but full-on wheat allergy. As in: epi shot required if she eats something from a factory that was within 100 miles of a wheat field. All in all I do feel much better without wheat, no more skin problems.
My most important lesson learned: Build your diet around your carb intake, not protein. I know this is heresy, but I don't need nearly as much protein as broscience tells us. The only time I need a lot of protein is when I'm eating keto, to provide me with energy. And then I'd rather eat 2-300 g of carbs and have that energy when I need it, and not feel like shit.
Full disclosure: I'm clean as a whistle. My most chemical vice is the aspartame sweetener in my rooibos tea.
