how much cardio is too much
« on: March 21, 2013, 06:05:35 PM »
If your fat can you really do too much cardio.   Not worrying about losing muscle.  Just trying to lose fat

If you're fat I don't think you need to worry about too much cardio, once you start to lean out then cut back on it.

There's no such thing as too much cardio bro, just do it on an empty stomach, take AT LEAST 200mg of ephedrine and a glass of grapefruit juice and DO NOT drink any water or stop running. You may feel your heart hitting around 130 bpm after a while, but this is what you want it is a sign that you are in fat burning mode.

Hahaha yes bigmc exactly! Where most people fall short with the 200mg eph & empty stomach regime is they stop running when they get very anxious and thoughts of impending doom overwhelm them - THIS IS WHEN YOU NEED TO PUSH THROUGH, the panic attack on the ephedrine is your fat telling the body that it's being burned and wants you to stop burning it!!!

For most of my adult life I could not run more than 1 mile without experiencing pain. One day I went into a runners store, one of the specialists had me run in the store barefoot. Turns out that I have extreme flat feet and my ankles roll...thus shin splints when I run.

He then recommended the New Balance 1540 which is probably the ugliest shoes in the world but built for people with foot issues. Since then I have enjoyed running/cardio even more than lifting weights.

Get your feet tested, get the right running shoes and run as often and as long as you can. And to mix it up I started getting cycling.  Running is something that you can do anywhere and at any age.

there is no proof that working out on a empty stomach burns more fat then working out after a meal,   Also  I wouldnt think avoiding water would be a goood thing

This is why you've hit a plateau bro, it's not so much the empty stomach but the doasges of stimulants that bring the break through. If you can't get enough eph to do 200mg 3 times per morning, than you can use caffiene instead but multiply the doagse by 4-5X to equal the effect. For example 200mg ephedrine sulphate = 1-1.5g of caffiene anyhoydrous (or 8 boxes of pro plus). If the cashier gets suspect of you buying the whole shelf of proplus, just buy half, leave it a couple hours and go back with a hat on to get the rest.

If you start losing to much strength you know you are doing to much if lifting is your primary goal.

On another note, running or cardio does have an intensity factor. My buddy would always talk a good game about his 7 mile runs and even running the NY city marathon. He's has a chubby look to him. I finally went for a run with him for 4 miles. He was running so slow it was like an old lady shuffle. Maybe 11-12 minute miles.

I told him he would be better off running 2 miles hard at a time if he wanted to get lean than all that gentle shuffling he was doing.

Actually, if a person has fucked up adrenals, then there is definitely a thing as too much cardio.  If your adrenal system isn't reasonably healthy, too much cardio or stress of any kind can send your body into a metabolic tailspin.  A person with bad adrenals and depressed thyroid, likely caused from many years of yo-yo dieting, has a body that doesn't see cardio as exercise, their body see's extended cardio as a very stressful event jeopardizing existence, resulting in depressed thyroid, T3 and overall metabolism.   Especially if they are doing cardio on ultra low calorie diets without adequate rest and recovery.

Totally agree bro, this is why you need 200mg ephedrine 3 x per morning to overcome the T3 issues.

ive always done cardio on empty stomach first thing in morning, it seemed to work well. i think hard weight training combined with super strict low carb diet got me leaner than tons of cardio on super strict diet. everyones different though

So what is it? Can you run a 5 or a 7 minute mile? Consider most commercial treadmills max out at a 5 minute mile that is 12 MPH. So you can run a mile with the treadmill going at full speed with zero running training?  I would advise you to join a division one track team and go from zero running to 6 days a week cause the Olympics is within reach with that incredible innate potential.

cardio is useless for weight loss. get that through your head.

*letting that sink in*

...

ok, now to address the real problem: your diet.

until you accept this hard truth, you will never improve.

Varies from day to day. I run outside in the summer sometimes. The area I go through is 2 miles exact. Takes me 10-15 minutes to do it.

I don't like running on a treadmill.

I know you are taking the piss out of what I said but okay.

I haven't ran much since highschool but back then I was a tailback.

no, you are in denial bc you refuse to eat the way you know you should. there are countless examples of people i've seen over the years at gyms who consistently do tons of cardio and always look the same.

i do little to none (15 min tops) and have sick conditioning because i am willing to sacrifice my diet for my fitness goals.

there is no other way.

no amount of training can make up for dietary indiscretions.
