epic armericana mimicking European sport/luxury

300 was bad enough copying the rolls royce, now i see some new ford sedan driving around that has a front end almost identical to the aston martin lol wow. this cadi is another mimic, makes domestics seem sort of desperate and pathetic.

300's are a cool car btw, but nothing original about them.

The Chinese market wanted a more rounded Euro look, and less American caddy Art and Science. Which makes no sense, as it is an American brand, with American design language. I like the front, but the back, is "meh", more of a letdown.
Everybody is going with the Lexus styled lower valance incorporated exhaust tips now.

You're right , Looks nothing like the 300 which was a copy of a Phantom which you could say was a copy of a Lincoln Continental

You guys have it all backwards. The CTS 03 version was the first to come out with tall doors and short windows then in 05 Chrysler did it with their 300 copying Cadilac and now you blame the new model 2014 of copying Chrysler, lol.

Nice looking car beats my 2005 CTS by a long shot.

I gotta agree.... It's like were not even trying anymore. I don't know why we're suddenly just going full Euro on the new designs, the new Vette is very Euro looking as well. I'm not a big fan of American automobile manufacturers trying to pull off the Euro theme.

They must have a reason I suppose.

It really isn't a design style as much as it's to aid in crash/safety standards.

I had a 1959 Cadillac Coupe Deville, a 1967 Cadillac Deville Convertible and a 1975 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible.  Those were all real Cadillacs.  I don`t even know what these are anymore.

What do you think of the interior?

I`m sure its a great car, but I just really love the tailfins and boats of yesteryear.  I would rather have this new CTS than the BMW`s and such for sure.

Problem is, the "boats" of yesterday (my mom still has her '87 Lincoln Town Car) won't sell to a public whose perception of luxury has changed...just look at what has happened to Lincoln now. Lincoln, and it's higher sub division Continental, Caddy, Mercedes and Rolls used to define the luxury dept.
Continental used to be right up there with Rolls and Bentley, and was just well put together, if not better. BMW was fighting it out with Alfa at one time...
Now, due to multiple reasons Lincoln was run into the ground.

it's like the benz c300's front-end, but i think caddy introduced that style first.   that's about it.  i'd take it over my contractor issued nissian sentra.  ::)

Bmws need to get back to being what they used to be "ultimate diving machines " nowadays the 3 is basically a smaller 5 and the 5 is a smaller 7. 5 series , numb steering feel, gained 400 pds over e60, soft all over... 3 series still great but that "telepathic " feel they have been known for in the e46 and e90 is just not there

If bmw is going softer to please more buyers thy def got it , but turned around and pissed off the enthus.

The competition has def caught up and very close not like yesteryears when bmw dominated with e39 5 series or 36/46/90 3 series... They need to get back to that IMO
