Tossing sand in your Va-Jay-Jay

This is very lackluster.  Other than Rock/Cena there isn't anything of interest.  And then only they are interesting because you have to expect the WWE to present a clean match again without any controversial finish or outside interference.

Taker vs Punk?  Anyone really expect Punk to win?  No.  Just another victim for Taker's stupid streak.  Obviously I am not a fan of Undertaker (never have been) but this is just beyond pathetic by this point.  If you wanted the streak to mean something there would be wins over Austin, Rock, or Cena on it.

Triple H has to put his career on the line for Brock?  What career?  How many matches he had in the last 3 years?  How many did he win?  Jobbers have better records than that.

This is going to be nothing but a Monday Night Raw with extra decorations around the ring.

Hmmm....his last WrestleMania win was against Sheamus, who "injured" him the following month at Extreme Rules. His last two PPV wins were against Punk and Nash in 2011.

Actually, Rock and Cena is getting drab, because Rock is hardly showing up on TV. And, all we see is this sad-sack Cena, blubbering about last year's loss and the downward spiral that ensued.

I'm looking forward to Del Rio vs. Swagger. That's REALLY heating up. Add to that the spectre of Swagger's DUI/weed thing. I've speculated that either he won't win the belt or he will but get beat down afterwards, resulting in Ziggler cashing MITB on him for the strap.

As for Undertaker's streak, I say 21-0. This is the first time in 5 years that he's faced a heel. I'm sick of the re-tread matches, with 'Taker facing guys that he already beat at WrestleMania. With that said, Michaels and Helmsley aren't chopped liver.

To me, his wins over Helmsley make up for not figthing Rock or Austin. After all, Triple H was the one guy that had Austin's number. And, he has more than his fair share of wins over the Rock, including one at WrestleMania. Add to that wins over Edge and Orton, and I say the streak's value is legit, even minus Austin or Rock. I'd love to see him fight Cena.

Another potential WrestleMania goodie appears to be Chris Jericho vs. this new cat.....FAAAAAANNN----DAAAAAANNNN---GOOOOO!!!

This Shield vs. Show-Sheamus-Orton has some potential, as do the tag title match (Team Hell No vs. Ziggler and Langston).

I think, this time around, the undercard will need to save the day. The main event isn't being propped as such.

It's pretty much a given that Vince is going to protect Taker's streak at Wrestlemania ever year.  So it doesn't matter who his opponent would be.  But he hasn't defeated those I mentioned, nor a Goldberg or Brock either.

Personally I never watch an Undertaker match anyway if I have to.  He's over the hill at this point.

I don't care to see Rock as champ because he never defends the belt.  At least with Cena as champ he took the belt with him to all those Make A Wish events he was a part of, which to me gets more respect that Rock taking the belt on the Tonight Show (where he never even mentioned Wrestlemania once)

Jack Swagger is annoying as hell to look at.  I see his "punishment" as being a mid card spot for a long time after WM.    And for Gods sake, Del Rio needs a better "signal" to indicate the cross arm bar is coming up than just slapping his wrist.

I agree with you. But, as mentioned earlier, Helmsley has beaten those men you mention. So, Taker's defeating him multiple times counts for something. Remember that, before his first match with the Deadman at Wrestlemania, Helmsley beat Austin in a 3-Stages-of-Hell match at No Way Out.

I definitely agree with you there, which is why Cena should have been champion for this re-match. I knew they'd let Rock win the title. And, I sooooo wanted Cena would cash Money-In-The-Bank on Rock and beat him for the belt, making this bout at WrestleMania the proverbial rubber match.

I've said elsewhere that you don't need Cena to take the belt from Rock to put Cena over. Cena got over Triple H with a successful title defense at WM22. He could've done the same against Rock here.

Swagger has already been there. Outside of Khali, I can't think of any former World champion in recent years, that has been virtually buried as much as Swagger was (prior to his sabbatical).

If I'm not mistaken, Swagger hasn't been beaten since his return. But, I still have this feeling that he's going to win the title, only to have Ziggler shank him by cashing MITB.

If this was bodybuilding, it would be the last ASC.  Other than Rock/Cena... nothing of note.

Man I miss the old days when wrestlers only did squash matches on tv so that by the time they reached the PPV you were eagerly looking for to some midcard match like Dino Bravo vs Don Muraco or Barbarian vs Tito Santana.  Because you really had no idea which one would be winning.  Except for Tito.  He never seemed to win anything.

I'm looking forward to the Taker / Punk match actually, I enjoy both their work, so it should be a good one.  The only concern is Taker hasn't been very active for a while now, and there will be a point where he can't do it anymore.  He's not averse to ending the streak from what I've read, so there's always the chance that someone could beat him.  It would certainly throw the cat among the pigeons, and would give him a storyline ending to his career if he wanted.

The Rock / Cena one isn't getting my hopes up though.  The one last year was pretty boring, neither one of them is fluent enough in the ring in my opinion, and the match seemed clunky at times.  They both rely on the 'hype' moves, getting their sequences in, getting the crowd going, but they can't seem to pull off the filler in and around those.

The rest of the card is so-so for me.  HHH / Brock will be a chair / sledgehammer / blood / smashed table-a-thon, and I don't really see the point in his career being on the line.  He doesn't wrestle enough for that to add any interest, and we all know he runs the company now, so his career is never going to be 'over' anyway.  It would have been more interesting if Steph had been on the line...  Grin  Imagine Brock dragging her back to his cave...

So far....

- Rock v. Cena (WWE title)

- Alberto Del Rio v. Jack Swagger (World title)

- Wade Barrett v. Miz (Intercontinental title)

- Undertaker v. CM Punk

- Triple H v. Lesnar (No Holds Barred; Helmsley's career on the line)

- Tell Hell No v. Ziggler & Langston (WWE tag titles)

- Shield v. Orton, Sheamus, and Big Show

- Mark Henry v. Ryback

- Chris Jericho v. Fandango

- Team Rhodes Scholars v. "Tons of Funk" (Tensai and Brodus Clay)

The card look solid, for the most part. The problem is the lousy build-up for some of the match, ESPECIALLY the "main event" (Rock v. Cena). Jericho and Fandango have more heat than those two.

The World title match has the kind of beef you expect for a Wrestlemania main event. Rock and Cena have been lame.

Card is not bad but definitely not worth the PPV price. I do kind of look forward to team hell no vs Ziggler/Big E....Potential break up for Team Hell NO? Put Danielson back in the SIngles championship run. Hell if Mysterio comes back put him in a match with him.

I think Punk will carry UT but Taker will get the win.

There is not a good ending to HHH vs Brock - I don't see HHH taking the loss/retirement but for Brock to lose this would squash his "Monster" auora.

Miz vs Barrett? Cmon now...the US and IC titles have become a mockery.

It depends on how it's done. Lesnar's loss to Cena didn't squash his monster aura. And, that was an "Extreme Rules" match.

To top it all off, Barrett beat Miz on Raw to get the title back. What was the point of having Miz be IC champion for a day?

I believe part of the reason is that most of the good stuff has been done. Fans have become desensitized, along with changing tastes: think Twilight. And overall, the quality and appeal of the shows and wrestlers has diminished. More and more, I see dead audiences. They pop once in a while, but not like they used to. Last Monday was a rare exception.
