Goddamn, you're one negative, miserable person.  I truly don't know what else to say.  I really don't know how you can ever succeed in life with your attitude.  You seem to think that everythign is predetermined, and that we have no control over our lives.    I wish you the best though.

 ;D

His threads are completely bogus, lol

That's cool man, I actually like you and am glad your life is fulfilling.  If I ever come to America, which I doubt, I would consider shooting guns at a range, but to tell the truth, I don't feel any compulsion too, not because of my views on the Gun issue, it is just something that doesn't appeal to me.  No different if someone invited my to try lawn bowls or badminton., I love where I live now, I truly do, and feel little to no compulsion to travel.  it is a beautiful part of the world and close to a bush mountain range which I enjoy regular trail walks in.

You're so mixed up on the gun issue... lol

Most people in the US probably aren't gun enthusiasts.  Government of the people simply can't hold all the weapons.

And what is stopping any one individual from achieving those same things you just mentioned?  Absolutely nothing.

Exactly!  Mitt's father or grandfather started at the bottom and was able to build something and pass this luxury on.

That's true in any rural area around the world.  In the United States you can legally defend yourself.

If you live in a country where people do not own guns, you will be fine without one.

In America every Joe has 5 guns and 100 pounds of ammo though. It's created a rat race where everybody is buying up weapons in a hurry so they won't be outgunned by their neighbors.

I am not anti-gun. But in america it really is off the hook.

I don't know anyone that's ever been a victim of gun violence or even come close.

It's an inner city issue, criminal killing criminals.

Are you from California or ny? You sound like you must be a city guy from an anti gun state.

Come up to my neck of the woods. Every walmart and gun store is constantly sold out of guns and ammo, you literally see crowds of people at any place that sells guns. Nra stickers everywhere, "this house doesn't call 911" signs all over. It's heavy gun culture in the Pacific northwest.

Every state is different. You must not realize that.

Central Ohio, I've been all over though.  Guns are really a non issue.  Your chances of being a victim of gun violence are extremely low.

Ohio is probably one of the most gun friendly states in the US.  Actually, the more gun friendly states have lower crime rates as opposed to NY, Chicago, etc...

You'll probably lie, but I can almost guarantee you've never known anyone that's shot anyone/been shot either.

I have fired warning shots on trespassers 3 times.

I got burglarized once.

I've had lots of heated arguments with people near my property. Litterers, trespassers, vandals.

There have been lots of homicides and shootings less than a mile from places I lived.

Somebody was shot right down the street from me a year ago.

I'm out in the wild west. This isn't the pussy-ass Midwest. On the west side people are a lot more chaotic.

The people of the USA have been sold out in almost every way.

Sold out to the pharmaceutical industry, insurance industry, prison industrial complex.

Bled for every dime of taxes. Living in a police state. About half the people in the USA are poor, desperate and ready to snap.

Still, lots of retarded Americans say they have "freedom".

Where is this freedom?
hello, it's the same everywhere on earth, POOR PEOPLE ARE SOLD BY RICHER SMARTER PEOPLE AT THE TOP OF THE PYRAMID, it's not just an "american" thing, just the law of nature.

Let me tell the whole story. I live in a rural secluded area, the nearest neighbor about 500 feet away through thick forest. The nearest cops are about 12 miles away usually. It's all me out here.

All three times were at night. So dark I couldn't see the criminals very well.

The first time. I heard noise outside at about 4am and it woke me up. I grabbed rifle, opened the door, saw 2 people in my tool shed taking my shit. So I ran out shooting over their heads, yelling at them. They  dropped the tools and ran. Later I saw that they snipped the lock somehow. Tools were scattered but the didn't take any of them.

The second time. I saw sitting out in the pitch dark at night alone, smoking some herb. In the darkness I see a fucking person creeping around my car about 50 feet away. I quietly creeped over to my home, grabbed the winchester, and ran up on him. When he saw me he ran off, I unloaded the rounds in his direction, purposely shooting high so to not actually hit him.

The third time I was in my house. Heard a noise and grabbed the gun. Once again it's somebody breaking into my tool shed. In the darkness I could see it was a blonde woman, she didn't even hear me coming up and she was prying open the doors with a metal bar. I yelled FREEZE I GOT A GUN. And she dropped the bar and ran. I unloaded the clip over her head.

That's what you do when people fuck with you and your in a secluded area. A cop will take like 20 minutes to get over sometimes.

So what's your point?  You're the only one with a gun in these three scenarios.  ???

If you think the United States is the only country with burglaries you're mistaken.

LMAO I guess you don't consider Canada to be part of the world then.

HTH...

Total crime victims    Canada: 23.8%    United States: 21.1%

DEFINITION: People victimized by crime (as a % of the total population). Data refer to people victimized by one or more of 11 crimes recorded in the survey: robbery, burglary, attempted burglary, car theft, car vandalism, bicycle theft, sexual assault, theft from car, theft of personal property, assault and threats. Crime statistics are often better indicators of prevalence of law enforcement and willingness to report crime, than actual prevalence.

Of course every country has burglaries you dumbass.

The matter is HOW MUCH it happens. And in this country it happens a lot more than any other developed country.

Or are you comparing American crime rates to those of very poor countries?

lol this is such a silly point to even debate, there is no debate.  I know Americans who have moved to Canada and said they feel much, much safer.  This is from wikipedia.

"Much study has been done of the comparative experience and policies of Canada with its southern neighbour the United States, and this is a topic of intense discussion within Canada.

Historically, the violent crime rate in Canada is lower than that of the U.S. and this continues to be the case. For example, in 2000 the United States' rate for robberies was 65 percent higher, its rate for aggravated assault was more than double and its murder rate was triple that of Canada. However, the rate of some property crime types is lower in the U.S. than in Canada. For example, in 2006, the rates of vehicle theft were 22% higher in Canada than in the US.[16] Since violent crimes are a smaller fraction of all crimes, the difference between the two countries is less than the homicide rate might make it seem, and the overall rates are generally close (see Crime in the United States).[citation needed]

Furthermore, in recent years,[when?] the gap in violent crime rates between the United States and Canada has narrowed due to a precipitous drop in the violent crime rate in the U.S. For example, while the aggravated assault rate declined for most of 1990s in the U.S. and was 324 per 100,000 in 2000, the aggravated assault rate in Canada remained relatively steady throughout and was 143 per 100,000 in 2000. In other areas, the U.S. had a faster decline. For instance, whereas the murder rate in Canada declined by 36% between 1991 and 2004, the U.S. murder rate declined by 44%. [17] Both Saskatoon and Regina consistently have violent crime rates that would place them among the 10 most violent cities in the US, and often individually exceed larger US centres in terms of total numbers for Aggravated Assaults and Robbery.[citation needed]

The homicide rate in Canada peaked in 1975 at 3.03 per 100,000 and has dropped since then; it reached lower peaks in 1985 (2.72) and 1991 (2.69). It reached a post-1970 low of 1.73 in 2003. The average murder rate between 1970 and 1976 was 2.52, between 1977 and 1983 it was 2.67, between 1984 and 1990 it was 2.41, between 1991 and 1997 it was 2.23 and between 1998 to 2004 it was 1.82.[18] The attempted homicide rate has fallen at a faster rate than the homicide rate.[19]

By comparison, the homicide rate in the U.S. reached 10.1 per 100,000 in 1974, peaked in 1980 at 10.7 and reached a lower peak in 1991 (10.5). The average murder rate between 1970 and 1976 was 9.4, between 1977 and 1983 it was 9.6, between 1984 and 1990 it was 9, between 1991 and 1997 it was 9.2 and between 1998 and 2004 it was 6.3. In 2004, the murder rate in the U.S. dipped below 6 per 100,000, for the first time since 1966, and as of 2010 stood at 4.8 per 100,000 [17]

Approximately 70 percent of the total murders in the U.S. are committed with firearms, versus about 30 percent in Canada.[20]"

Burglars in the United States usually serve about 16 months in prison, whereas in Canada they serve about 5 months and in England and Wales they serve about 7.
