Antoine is just a guy with a drug problem, who has been to rehab several times and should probably stay away from all drugs, including steroids...

...but he'd ratherbebig.

RBB is just trolling for attention

To say he's just "a guy with a drug problem" is very dismissive...

In case you forgot he's a guy who's name was more commonly known than some of the top 10 Olympians between 2011 and 2013.
He's a guy who exploded on youtube BEFORE guys like Boston, Rich [RIP] and CT Fletcher and Kali Muscle.
He broke the mould for what a bodybuilder needed to have accomplished in order to be "famous". His personality got him an incredible following.

And I say all this, because he accomplished all these things 1 year or 2 BEFORE even getting his Pro-Card.
Nobody is more aware of his addiction situation than he is and he know's nothing is more important than staying clean.

He has been able to be big, be productive, and set goals way before he had his addiction issues.

That's odd. Before this thread I'd never heard of him and neither has anyone I know at my gym who follows pro bodybuilding. They all know Fletcher, Rich, Kali, though.

I only made that statement so I could throw in the part about how Antoine would ratherbebig.  ;D  Love getting that expression in after my favourite Getbigger - ratherbebig!

I also like Never1AShow.  Speaking of which, upon turning pro, Antoine Never1AShow.  He came in far too heavy at the 2013 Toronto Pro.  He came in at around 250 when he should have been 230 or 235 max.

It is dismissive to say that Antoine is "just" a guy with a drug problem.  Drug problems are difficult to deal with.

He might not have as much quality muscle or definition as the legendary Matt "The Parched/Parshed One" Canning, but i find Antoine having quite the respectable physique even without a parsh.

Do you fear for his health?

Absolutely.  Being over 250-lb and straining the body even further with stimulants is not good.

Antoine got 5th in the super heavies.

Other notable news IFBB pro Paulo Almeida tore his bicep. There's a video on Instagram of it.

Other than that I can't say. Not much media out there for it

I feel badly about breaking the news that Antoine missed his Thunder Bay visit due to entering rehab...again.  I shouldn't have done it - let alone anonymously on the MD boards.

That being said, Antoine should likely be nowhere near cocaine, but as many know, some people have the genetic desire to use it - I think, as Mike Quinn said in his 2004 T-Nation interview with Ron Harris - it helps those with ADHD.  I think I am WAY too high strung to enjoy cocaine, and have never used it.  I did love my Percocet prescription, which leads me to believe my genetics are more suited for drugs that sedate me, rather than lift me up.

Antoine likes coke though - it's not entirely his fault, because genetic predisposition plays a role.  But he should be nowhere near cocaine.  As it is only psychologically addictive, he should perhaps consider antidepressants or something of the sort.  Working out helps, but I'm not so sure I want him taxing his heart with both steroids and cocaine.

I was going to send him an invite to live in one of the houses I rent in Thunder Bay, but that would be selfish, as I should just focus on my three children.  I do hope that Antoine can get this monkey off his back.  He's tough, so I think it's possible, but with each relapse, I'm not as confident in that.  I wish him the best, but he should probably stay far away from drugs.  If that's possible.

Antoine likes cocaine because he is a stupid fucktard.   Fear not, the pussy known as SF1900 will be along shortly to say cocaine is harmless.

Back to Antoine.  Fuck that idiot doper and his worthless drugged physique.  WTF?  It's not your fault he's a weak willed wussy.  A "genetic" predisposition?  Really?  I suppose Kai has a genetic predisposition to fucking grapefruit and walking around with what appears to be a toilet boa on his thick skull?  Antoine is a fucking loser and drug addict just like SF1900 is a pretend Asian with a genetic predisposition to being a fatass libtard.

Matt, you did nothing wrong except for being an sycophantic apologetic for a fucking missing link like Antoine.

What substances has Antoine abused? People have said he's been in rehab for meth, and someone told me years ago another pro had suggested it to him for preps. I think GHB has been mentioned too.

Matt, just because you are high strung and enjoy painkillers does in no way mean you wouldn't enjoy stims. Or even better, the percs WITH stims, doubt you would hate it if you like altered states at all. But it's better not to try it of course.

As an aside, some docs have wondered why no stims are used for substitution treatment like in the case of painkiller addicts getting subutex or methadone etc. Though I sort of suspect many do, though on paper it's for adhd or add, which everyone seems to have today.

I'm sure Antoine has been through the antidepressants already, which treatment seeking addict hasn't.

Antoine was looking real big recently and often writing about successfully staying clean and encouraging other addicts on IG.

I tend to subscribe to the concept that most traits are 50-80% genetic, with my view being the higher end of this range - 80%.  Also, did you read the interview with Mike Quinn by Ron Harris that was published online in T-NATION in 2004?  In it, he stated that he used cocaine as self-medication for his ADHD.  While I did not believe it at first, I eventually had more than one person with ADHD tell me the same thing, leading me to believe there was some truth to it.

I also know from my own experiences that I am virtually terrified of alcohol, drugs, and even sex [due to fear of herpes], and you almost couldn't force me to do these things.  The only drug that I have found that has jived with my brain chemistry has been opiates [based on a Percocet prescription I got once], and CBD [which is legal in Canada, and non-psychoactive].  So if my lack of drug and alcohol use can be largely genetic [I am almost allergic to both - it's bizarre], then couldn't a person's propensity to using certain drugs have a genetic driver?

I am not justifying any behaviour, merely suggesting that it is genetic in origin.  I would use Ted Bundy as the most egregious example - he claimed that his serial killing and necrophilia was based on watching violent porn as a child.  Using his logic, there would be thousands, if not millions, of serial killers in the USA right now.  As many men watched violent pornography, and probably all men watched non-violent pornography [again, being genetically afraid of indulging, I did not watch a pornography movie until the age of 16].  So I tend to think there was something more than that environmental condition at play - what could it have been if not genetics?  What in Ted's perfectly normal environment caused him to rape and murder women, and then come back to their grave sites to have sex with their dead bodies?  He wanted to claim it was environment, but countless other men had virtually the same upbringing as him, so I'm not buying it.  It has to be something - something likely found in his DNA.

I used Bundy as an example because I am NOT justifying behaviour just because I happen to feel that its origins are genetic - I'm merely pointing out that it is likely strongly genetic.  And again, by "strongly", I mean about 50-80% genetic.  In other words, from the moment Antoine was introduced to cocaine, he was bound to like it.  In addition to being surrounded by it - due to going to so many expos, and likely being invited to so many parties after contests were over, stuff like that.  He also had a very good bodybuilding merchandise business going on, where he was likely making $1,000 a week selling his autographs and stuff online.  Combine that with his UNIVERSAL contract, previous contract with Muscular Development, and I would say there was a period of time where he had something like $10,000 a month coming in - definitely enough to live life on his own terms, and spend a few thousand a month on cocaine - or more.  Given that friends would probably treat him to some.

So no justifying anything here - I'm just saying his genetic penchant for cocaine combined with his survival in a highly drug-based and superficial industry was just the perfect storm for Antoine to get hooked.  And he did.

Ah yes - you are correct about the more recent bout with relapse that Antoine had.  It was indeed crystal meth that caused him to go into rehab the time that he missed his Thunder Bay date.  That may have been his seventh relapse, if I recall correctly.

As for myself, you think that despite my being high strung, and enjoying opiates the most, that I might enjoy cocaine?  Well, to be honest, I likely would not use it simply because it is touched by way too many hands by the time it gets to North America.  It is too impure, and even at the source, it is not exactly "pure".  The recipe has even changed in Colombia - I believe they banned the import of diesel fuel or something like that into Colombia [the UN banned it, I think].  So they had to move on to making it with another ingredient.  So even pure cocaine is not exactly pure.  Add to that the numerous cutting agents that go into it every step of the way [and I'm not taking about a benign B vitamin like Inositol, but anything and everything, including ground up glass], it just makes the drug highly unattractive to me.  And if I like it - then what?  Even a lowly cut-up gram would cost $100 where I am from.  Is that worth it?  And what would that gram actually be?  Under half a gram of actually "pure" cocaine which, as I said, isn't even cocaine when pure?

I think that Safrole oil was banned from being imported into Canada from China - end result was that MDMA had to be produced using another ingredient.  That does NOT make things more safe, it makes things less safe.  New agents are used to substitute a proven ingredient, and then we know a lot less about the effects of those new ingredients.  Law enforcement is doing no good by doing this.

Maybe...just MAYBE...if I knew I was using actual cocaine, rather than God knows what passes for cocaine these days, I would consider trying it.  But as I said, I think it would just make me more high strung.  Who knows though...I could enjoy it.  But then what - would I be using it daily and destroying my heart while doing so?  I would not want that situation, especially not with children to support.

Sorry for the long posts.  ;D
