My friend said that the French have eyes that are close together. I can't really tell the difference between various ethnic groups from within a race. I remember at one of the Olympias, a blonde couple came to the front desk at the hotel, and I didn't think anything about it. The person asked where they were from, and they said "Poland" with an accent. I could immediately tell they were Polish. I can usually tell Italians, and I also find that Germans can be distinguished based on how their orbitals look.
Vaillant is a French Canadian name, I think. Some names are in Quebec, but wouldn't be in France.
Stephen King is from Maine, and there are a lot of French people there. He usually has French Americans in his story, and the names are always Anglicized a little - like Eduard Delacroix in The Green Mile.
