"Fitness Legends Gather to Celebrate Joe Weider's Life and Legacy"
The event will be held in Santa Monica. Should be very cool. Should be some great stories on how Joe changed the industry and people. Arnold will be there.

Mixed emotions about this guy. Yes he made bodybuilding cool and got lots of people into it, but self-serving and also deceptive about the role of steroids.
Won't be watching..

I don't think any other engagements whatsoever could have kept Arnold from being there....unless......

Seriously true. Neither would a big part of the supplement industry. Between him and Arnold, the Arnold Classic and Mr. Olympia are two of the biggest events for the 'sports supplement industry' in the US. And Joe brought Arnold into the picture. That is why the Memorial Service (or better yet, stories of remembering a celebration of life) has Arnold's Oak Productions involved in it heavily. Respect.

The Memorial for publishing, fitness and bodybuilding icon Joe Weider will be streamed live via the Internet on Bodybuilding.com, the largest fitness site in the world, with more than 25 million monthly visitors. The memorial is scheduled for Sunday, April 14, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. (PDT) in Santa Monica, California.
Visitors who cannot join the webcast live can view it later on Bodybuilding.com.
This memorial service is expected to be a memorable event in bodybuilding history. It will be attended by many of the great champions and legends of the sport. The major address will be delivered by Joe's lifelong friend, former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
"Bodybuilding fans from around the world will be able to share in this amazing memorial," says John Hardesty, Vice President of Digital Publishing at Bodybuilding.com. "We are honored to have been chosen as the exclusive outlet for this historic broadcast and will present it exactly as it happens. Joe Weider's contribution to fitness and bodybuilding cannot be overstated. Without Joe, none of us would be here."
Joe Weider's influence is felt in every area of fitness and health. He created a massive fitness publishing empire, including Muscle & Fitness, Flex, Shape, and Men's Fitness magazines. He popularized the use of fitness equipment in people's homes and was a leader in establishing the use of nutritional supplements. The company he founded, Weider Health and Fitness, became synonymous with fitness, nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.
Please join us in celebrating the life and legacy of the man who helped shaped our bodies, our industry, our sport and our world.

From Lonnie Teper
"Am extremely honored to be chosen as the emcee of the Memorial for Joe Weider, which will take place on Sunday, April 14, in Santa Monica, CA. It will be an invitation-only affair, but fans all over the world will be able to watch the event, live via an exclusive webcast, thanks to the efforts of Bodybuilding.com."

Joe Weider's final Principle: "Don't forget to pay your taxes on April 15th. If you do, it will put you in a catabolic state".
Shawn Ray calls it, "The Loss of Wealth, Self, and Sizzler's"

I would hope they would've already buried him. Three weeks is a long time to be dead and not buried.

Duh. Joe Weider was buried in Westwood Memorial Park in a private funeral. This is a memorial, reflecting various people and speakers on how Joe changed their lives. It is an honor to go.
