The Eleiko Olympic bar & plates are said to be among the best in the world, from the early 60's to present day.  The Swedish steel, and matched balance, gives a extra live/spring quality to the bar, and some of the plates are bumper style. More expensive, been told, but very much around today. Have any shot's of some of the original plates/bars back in the day, I wonder. The bars seem to have a much better grip and rotation to them (balance again).

Also any pic's of the Leoko and older Ivanko plates/bars? Talking to other lifters, and most think that the Ivanko doesn't always hold up in quality like some of the other higher priced bars. Any comment? Leoko seems well liked. China makes a very good Olympic set. Thanks again for all the pictures and information.

Info about Tom Petro...http://www.tompetro.com/fitnezz/

This thread tells about what may be the place that originally sold the Wonder plates.   I have two 45s and two 35s.  http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=112307.0

Stu Hart had a whole set of dumbells casted with 'HART' on them.   when i was hanging out with Jim Neidhardt alot he always said he was going to give me one pair from the set.   Jim ended up back in the states and i never got them.

now Bret Hart trains at my gym, and i mentioned the old set.  turns out a couple of his brothers are scumbags and looted everything from the house before Bret had a chance to even look at anything.
