President Obama is squashing Cubagate once and for all -- or at least he's trying to -- by telling the world he had nothing to do with his BFFs, Jay-Z and Beyonce, getting clearance to vaca on the island.
BO was asked on the 'Today' show if he had any advance notice that Jay and B were going to the communist nation, and said ... "I wasn't familiar that they were taking the trip. My understanding is I think they went through a group that organizes these educational trips down to Cuba."
Jay-Z sparked controversy when he rapped in "Open Letter" -- "Obama said chill ‘You gonna get me impeached' ... We don’t need this s**t anyway chill with me on the beach.'"
But the prez now seems to be officially brushing off those lyrics as creative license.
Question is ... you buying it?
