Zappa grew up in Lancaster Ca, his father was a research Chemist for the Military! He later moved to Laurel Canyon!

Frank was born in Baltimore. His dad worked at Aberdeen proving grounds as a Scientist. He moved to Cali as a teenager.

Musicians tend to be good at chemistry and mathematics...it's a strong crossover skill set.
