if you're on the list you're going to have a problem buying an airline ticket but no problem at all buying a gun

I can see both sides of the argument but curious what our right wingers on this board think about it

It's a chicken before the egg situation.  Do you remove the rights of an individual just because they might do something?  How many terrorists commit acts with guns (in the US at least) anyway?  Does it matter if they are allowed to buy guns or not as terrorists will obtain weapons if it's illegal for them to do so or not.

There are people that get put on these lists that are not affiliated with terrorists or are terrorists at all, so I don't honestly believe we should start stripping away rights just because some list.

Brutally weak attempt at being clever.

The more poignant question is whether people on the terror watch list should be able to buy pressure cookers and box cutters.

Hope this helps.

I've figured out who should maintain the watch list: Sallie Mae! :)

Terrorism for dummies...
Buy a big enough gun, shoot plane, emergency landing, hop in and take off towards a high building within reach.

What does one have to do to get on the terror watch list?  Who decides that they should be on the list?  Are these US citizens or people from other countries?

If they are citizens of the United States I'm not in favor of taking away their rights because someone thinks they "might" do something.  If they are forgeign nationals then they shouldn't be in the country.  If you have concerns about a non-citizen that we allow to be in the United States then the solution is to no longer allow them to be here.  Send them back where they came from post-haste.
