Sad news. Awesome singer and musician. Read his autobiography, I Lived to Tell it All years ago. He rivals Keef for the shit he's done, and lived.

Sad I got a couple of his CD's RIP. He drank alot several no shows after people bought tickets.

I'm somewhat surprised he actually made it to 81; that guy did a ton of partying in his day.

Of course there's the old story about his wife taking his car keys from him when his drinking got out of hand so he drove the riding lawnmower several miles to the closest liquor store.

I think his wife also sewed him into his bed sheets once when he came home drunk once but that might have been Willy Nelson's wife, I get those stories confused sometimes.
