Right now as of like this week right now and not 3 years ago 'right now'  Roll Eyes ..but as of last Monday def. 13 - 14 easy..

My best was 18 last year, I was working from home alot and got tons of sleep which I thought made me grow more than any silly powder from GNC.

In order to maximize your reps for 225 you have to do at least 6-8 workouts of specifically maximizing reps with 225 or else you will not get your best number.

So from experience I have built up a bench press of 405 pounds for 8 reps then I have dropped for my first workout to 225 for reps and have hit 39, second workout approximately 5 days later hit 42 then every 5 days hit 43, 44, 45, 46 respectfully. After 46 I Plataea and does not matter what I do that is all she wrote until I actually regroup and get overall physically stronger.

Must be mentally prepared and properly fuelled preferably full of sugar then load up on caffeine 600 mg at least and pop 20 ephedrine and a couple baby aspirin and you are ready to rep it out.

 For high reps sugar is better the complex carbs cause the carbs can over pump you and increase lactose acid faster.

lockout at the top allowed?making it easier.

lockout just before chest required?makes it harder

bouncing off fatchest allowed?makes it a joke

too many factors.


I say fast as possible and nearly full range, speed has to be there otherwise the numbers will dramatically decrease due to lactose acid. This is gym reps, not contest so lockout is not necessary but non of this half rep shit, it still has to be decent range of motion.

i know full well how to place myself and grip to reduce rom and increase stabilty without it being very noticeable and then i can actually do quite many reps.

but honest full rom bodybuilding bench reps with 225, if done slow, with never locking out anything, very very few can do more than 15.

keyword slow, if its done slow, i agree, time under contraction is the limit more than anything else.
well your right cause lactose acid sets in at the 30 second mark regardless of what rep you are at so if you only have 15 reps at this mark then you will shortly come to at hault but if you are 30 reps cause you are doing them fast then it comes down to speed.

Of course 30 second is for most but for some this stage of lactic acid may start at 40 second.

No idea since it has been awhile since I tried power lifting, however 225 does seem like much weight, if I remember correctly.

I created it as a reaction to the threat of Getbig censorship.  No personal attacks.

15 super slow reps with a pause at the bottom of each, coming back from a nasty little pec tear , now I only do close grip benching.

I believe I have done that many reps or more with this weight without the assist of PED's. Are you sure you really need them?

I'm one of those who responds very well to high-rep training -- but gets detrained quickly upon cessation. So right now I could maybe only do 10, very strict. Back when I was big and fat, about 30 reps.
