Cheick Kongo out of the UFC

After a seven-year run that included 18 fights in the organization, veteran heavyweight Cheick Kongo is a UFC fighter no more.

A UFC official told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) Kongo recently fulfilled the last fight on his contract and is unlikely to be re-signed at the current time. http://www.mmajunkie.com/news/2013/05/ufc-releases-veteran-heavyweight-cheick-kongo-after-ufc-159-loss

Always seemed too tepid a fighter.  Looks like a beast - but never seems to really bring it

No he's not. I've been with him most of the day. He's still on Dana whites payroll. They have to negotiate a new contract. If they can't negotiate, then he will leave. As of tomorrow, we start training we start back training.

dont forget Kongo has been kickboxing and taking blows for years and once the button starts becoming easy access career is basically done.
