I hosted a Tito seminar and Chuck Liddell (who was there, and at time friends with Ortiz) so the truth must be in the middle of those two accouts. Chuck said Tito swung on Lee, Lee slipped and countered with one punch dropping Tito to hands and knees, then began kicking his head like a soccer ball. Matt Hughes tells similar story in his book. Tito's version, iirc was Lee sucker punched him and he slipped and feel only cuz he was wearing dress shoes, not from KO. Lee also called Tito out (thinly veiled) after his UFC victory, as Tito was in the crowd (Lee being 20 lbs lighter in a different weight class), but no fight materialized.

Interesting note, Chuck went through the rioting crowd around the fight and knocked out like 5-6 guys, all one punch, resulting in a few broken jaws and noses (guys went to hospital). Chuck is a street fighter, don't doub that

His gym is across the street from mine. He parked his "team punisment" trailer on my street at the entrance of the gym. Air was let out of the tires..hahaha.

I can see how his "persona" could piss people off but Tito Ortiz is a good guy. This alleged ass-whooping is silly to me because without seeing it go down you can only judge it based on what people said. People who hate Tito are going to be in a hurry to make him look bad and Tito isn't going to want to look like a bitch. Who knows what really happened. Even if he did get knocked down by some worthless convict it doesn't change what Tito did in the UFC.

Put me in the pro-Tito camp.

Tito made his name in the UFC and did great. But Toto is an asshole and has little respect from the people who actually know him. I was there when my wrestlers (who were 17) repeatedly pinned him when he was trying to do his dirty sparring by elbowing them. They got pisses and dropped his ass at will. He got pissed, through a bunch fbombs (remember, these are kids) and stormed out. The school is a Conservative Christian School known for its wrestling program where I was and still am the schools S&C coach. Tito is not a good person.
