I've been around this game for a long time. Guys in the gym that take what they think are low doses say they are natural. After all they don't take what that guy takes.    

Guys know that if they don't deny steroids that the drugs get all the credit. If they claim natural then it's all their hard work and knowledge. They also want to keep their parents quiet and also law enforcement off their ass.

Let me comment on the knowledge part. There have been elite bodybuilders that couldn't tell you what exercises they used the day before or if the moon is bigger than the sun.
