A couple of weeks ago when I was at the USC Strength and Conditioning clinic, I had the great opportunity to hear some great strength coaches speak, Noel Durfey from Duke Aaron Ausmus from USC and Tommy Moffit from LSU. A couple of years ago however, I had the chance to meet Coach Moffit when I was passing through Baton Rouge (one of my favorite things it to travel and see different University strength facilities). At that time, I wasn't able to spend as much time as I would have liked but Coach Moffit more than generous about letting me sit in the morning session. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago and the seminar. This was Coach Moffits first time to California. My son wanted to go to the seminar and clinic to see SC's new facility and tour the campus. Out the 320 that attended he was the youngest (15) and needless to say, got some attention from people (mostly coaches) that a kid had an interest in S&C.
During lunch, my son and I were sitting alone eating and coach Moffit came to sit with us. If you have ever (I'm sure quit a few of you probably have) heard a coach give a motivational speech or talk, you know what I mean. But this was a one on one between my son and one of the best S&C coaches in College football. He invited both of us out there for a week of team observation and to see the entire staff operation. This will our summer vacation.
But as I was screwing around looking at LSU's facility, I came across this wake up call...
