Im 38 - too old to join up and want to see if i can do it since I have really changed my training up.
Why not do something more rewarding, with a better payoff at the end. Bike across America. Hike the Appalachian Trail. Go on an Elk hunt in the dead of winter. Walk the East Coast. Swim the Great Lakes. The list goes on.
No offense, but this ruck thing seems like another dumb hipster idea. I can't figure out why anyone would want to pay to have a former drill Sgt kick the shit out of them for 24 hours. In return, you will get a broken body, blisters, sprains, strains, etc, and a patch. At the end, you will be happy if you complete it, and you will feel disappointed if you don't. You will try to tell people about your accomplishment, and they will not know wtf you're talking about, and ultimately won't give a shit.
Now, if you were to hike the Grand Canyon from rim to rim, you would get a great story, countless pictures, meet people, and it would be much more fullfilling and challenging.
