The president should hold a lengthy press conference to address the bevy of scandals engulfing his administration.  I suspect what we will get instead is a speech, where he takes no questions.  But maybe he will surprise me.

I doubt he would really answers questions in a meaningful way in a press conference anyway, but he really owes the public answers. 

I think he will give a speech so he can give Obama-bots talking points.

President Barack Obama was scheduled to deliver a statement Wednesday from the East Room of the White House after a meeting with senior Treasury Department officials. During the meeting, Obama will be "making sure people are held accountable for their conduct, for their activities," White House press secretary Jay Carney said.
