Classic San Francisco House from 2001. This was a big track worldwide

Sweet, I recognise the last part as 'Back to Mine' from 'Everything but the girl',

On the more progressive side, from 1998. John Digweed played this in every set for a couple of years.

This minimal trance set brought me in because he sampled the movie PI, which is one of my favorites of all time...Never has paranoia been so well portrayed in a movie...

Here is the trailer to PI

That long track is a great one, I've listened for 15 minutes but I will convert it to an MP3 for my cardio.
I've seen Pi a couple of years ago, simply on Youtube. A misunderstood genius... I believe that more people feel that way, but many of them feel stuck in the system... sad

I have a question for you guys.

It's kinda a " you have to know"  question...really don't know if you can google it.

I'm hosting a party for my GF  friends...they are mid 30s early 40s...I have the rock and pop down as far as tunes to play but I'd like to mix in some fat ass club music ...what would be some good..not poppy shit...dance tracks that they would like and recognize from when they were in the scene.  These are cool people who clubbed pretty hard.  Like 10-15 tracks tops.  Maybe some rap.

That's a nice challenge. The first thing that pops-up in my mind is a balanced mix of eighties, electro and new wave stuff.

Here's a sample playlist:

1.fade to grey-visage
2.bizarre love triangle-new order
3.happy station-fun fun
4.sex crime-eurythmics
5.situation-yazoo
6.in the heat of the night-tapps
7.funky town-lipps inc
8.queen of burlesque-gazebo
9.passion-the flirts
10.sub culture-new order
11.will you be there-celebrate the nun
12.don't go-yazoo
13.in the night-pet shop boys
14.walking on thin ice-yoko ono
15.tour de france-kraftwerk
16.don't stop-digital emotion
17.together in erectric dreams-human league
18.peek a boo-devo

Thanks for the effort i appreciate it....I know most of those songs. I spun from 83-91 my new wave..freestyle and 80s knowledge is tight.

I'm looking for stuff that was bumping in the clubs say 95- 2005.  I was out of the industry...have no clue who sang what......LOL

I believe that the eighties was the final era in which dance/club music was made, which is both recognizable as good(!), so that's a tough one, LOL!

Maybe this Youtube query might help?

Youtube is very good at searching for a specific year...Type the style of dance you are looking for whether it be trance, house, techno, then the year...I do that all the time and come up with gems I have forgotten about...That is way easier for you and us, instead of trying to remember specific tracks of artists from memory...
