Galaxy S3 Sprint - Repair on the Headphone Jack?
« on: May 22, 2013, 09:26:53 PM »
The headphone jack on my Galaxy S3 is shorting out, and none of my headphones work in it anymore.

If I take it to the Sprint Store will they try to pull some shit and order me a new one, or can they fix it there?

I was thinking about just ordering the part off ebay for $14.00 and replacing it myself.

Can you use a soldering iron?...can you deal with surface soldering?

Yes, but I would probably fuck something like this up...  Thankfully, I took it apart (only five screws) and was surprised to find out that the headphone/loudspeaker are one piece, and they just snap/plug into the motherboard.

We have one of those Sprint Repair places here, just wondered if they would fix this in the store or make me wait.  I have the insurance, hope it applies.

If I don't have audio, I won't be able to act like I don't hear people talking to me at the gym.
