How far are you willing to get down and how much weight are you willing to lose?  I ask this because you may have gotten used to being the "big guy" and you might freak out as you see the scale drop and drop and drop.  I don`t think your identity is completely wrapped up in being "the big guy", but if it is, you will fail.

I think you should tough it out for a few months to a year at least.  Is your main intention to get in the best shape you possibly can or is it to just lose a bit and still be "the big guy" or somewhere in between?
