cardio just seems to take so much out of me..I just can't sustain it more than a few weeks tops.....I feel drained and dread going to the gym after a while..any thoughts?..tips?
when I see women banging out sprints on the treadmill next to me, all that "I'm drained" nonsense flies out the window. If they can do it for 30 minutes like crazed person, then you damn sure can.

I ride 5 - 10km everyday on my bike

I am confident to be able to that

You ride 3.1 miles to 6.2 miles a day on your bike and your confident you can ride 50 miles at 18MPH?

As I recall Sophus is a gimmick. And one of the more lame ones.

I am by no means a hardcore bicyclist, but I've trained pretty consistent for some time in order to ride at the quoted speed. Also, the mentioned 50 miles had a lot of hills.

That is impressive. I rode for about 60 miles or so riding about 18MPH much of the way but I'm sure the average wasn't 18MPH. I once rode for 500 miles in 5 days. Now if I ride I ride for about 15 miles on a hybrid going as slow as hell.

The bench is the most useless measure of strength and power.

not so sure about that, but it most certainly is the upper body squat

If you are really riding that Trek what you are doing isn't extremely difficult. Those things are like the wind.

I didn't say what I do is difficult. Since this is a muscle / bodybuilding forum, I was just curious as to the cardio level of people here.

I have a dedicated road bike, 26 cm tires. I started on a hybrid, got sick of guys on road bikes flying by me like i wasn't moving. I'm still not "fast", weighing 235 has a LOT to do with that.... But my range and speed have doubled since i got into it.

No it's not. Elite level cyclists are most definitely not "the look of true functional power." Most look like concentration camp victims with, in a few cases, better looking quads than the average person. IFBB pros look like garbage - that's true, but pro cyclists mostly look like jockeys with golf tans. Most couldn't do a single chin-up if their life depended on it.

Sprinters, decathletes, higher weight class wrestlers, etc. - those athletes represent the look of true functional power.

It depends on the racing discipline. Some avenues of racing have some mass monsters.

A ten minute walk a few times a week. Just measuered my heart rate: 55 bpm. I varies from high 40s to low 60s over the course of the day. Is resting heart rate an indicator of cardo health?
A 10 minute walk? May I ask your A/S/L?

Today the elevator in my apartment complex wasn't working and I had to go up three flights of stairs. I managed to get up without stopping, but just barely. I collapsed in bed for a good 10 minutes immediately afterwards. So... I guess my cardio shape is average?
