Those who are GIVEN clearance for classified information are responsible for keeping it classified.
When you are told information that you weren't given clearance for, from someone who was responsible for keeping it classified, THEY are at fault.
When classified information is leaked to you and you're a journalist, it's your job to report it.
As soon as classified information is given to someone without proper clearance/privilege it stops being classified information...by definition
