You can't have the 5-6th largest economy in the world and still have people living in shantytowns and favelas with the trade offs being free electric, land, food programs, soap operas and carnival. Then, they are adding insult to injurt by building walls around the favelas.

"Brazil is the country of the future and always will be."

It's time to live up to this quote.

Americans have nothing to protest or bitch about.....we are too worried about which Kardashian is fucking who, who offended who, who dropped a thinly-veiled racial epiteph, whether the new smart phone is thinner and has a screen that is .1" bigger than the previous, shopping for $40k Hondas, and buying 5 dollar "organic" mangos at the chain supermarket.

Brazilians on the other hand don't have anything to do other than grub around in the sloppy mud looking for food.  When they are not doing that, they are chopping down rainforests to make room for their shitty farms to feed a bunch of worthless poor people who are too stupid to not have broods of children.

Makes you wonder how intelligence evolved over eons of time. Average IQ have dropped significantly over the last 100 or so years. Smart people don't have as many children as knuckleheads. The flotsam will multiply. Should be interesting in the future.

 I'm here.... sorry I've been busy ;D

We are just had enough with corruption.

Lawmaker here have a 15 month salary plus they are trying to pass a new law Pec 37.

 Pec 37

"The Plenary of the House of Representatives is expected to vote soon on a Proposed Amendment to the Constitution 37. The project, known as PEC of Impunity, plan to take the power of criminal investigation of State Prosecutors and Federal modifying the Brazilian Constitution. In practice, if passed, the amendment will preclude almost investigations against organized crime, embezzlement, corruption, abuses committed by state agents, and human rights violations.

The major scandals have always been investigated and reported by the prosecutor, who acts in defense of citizenship independently. The PEC 37 undermines the democratic regime, citizenship and the rule of law and can also prevent other agencies conduct investigations such as the IRS, the COAF (Council for Financial Activities Control), TCU (Court of Audit) the CPI (Parliamentary Commissions of Inquiry), among others."

And they are trying to increase the fare on public transportation, the minimum wage here is 650 reais=320 dollars. " i really don't know how can anyone survive with that money" so the increase in the fare it is a big deal for these people.

Brazilians pay a lot in tax... a lot.
And so far 30 billion expend building shit for the world cup... nobody can answer where the money went.

We had 100 thousand people in the streets yesterday.. "Rio de janeiro"

65 thousand in Sao Paulo...30 thousand in Belo Horizonte...20 thousand in the South.

We are going to stop the fucking country... well!! we already stop half of the country.

*Picture... that is our congress. can you do that on yours?

But if you compare all of this with what is happening in US.... that is nothing.

So when are you going to get off your ass and do something about it? 8)

This familiar locution is intended as a backhanded compliment. It suggests that Brazil will never become a country of the present because its actualization as a well-functioning nation will always be deferred. Subsequently, it is living up to this quote.

poverty and economic/social disparity will always exists.r

The poor place their hopes in politicians hoping for wealth redistribution. While the rich use politics as a way to control the majority, which is usually the poor.

I agree with you Vince. Here in the US the government leaches have 10 kids while the a stage hard working family has 1-2 kids.  This world is in trouble.

Poverty is related to currency control.  Central bank policies allow a continual wealth transfer from the middle class and poor to the wealthy.

This was preventable. They should have sterilized all third world women and then apologized a year later. We're sorry it was mean of us. Will you forgive us??? The apology would have been sincere.

Meanwhile they can't breed anymore lol! It is a win win.
