Hastings is probably best known for his Rolling Stone piece that ultimately cost Gen. Stanley McChrystal his job as the commander of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan. Hastings made a name for himself covering the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and previously worked for GQ and Newsweek. So a late model Mercedes, which has countless counter mechanisms for stopping a catastrophic failure, somehow explodes so violently that the engine block leaves the frame and lands in the middle of the road?

Mercedes stated that this is nearly impossible in their cars and were not able to determine a single scenario in which this could have possibly been a fault of one of the components.

Or it could have been the fact that he pissed someone off when he got McCrystal fired.  Or he was working on something just as big and they didn't want it getting out.

Everything stinks about this whole thing.  LAPD refusing to release any accident report information, refusing to release the black box to Mercedes Benz so they can anaylyze what happened, refusing to allow access to Hastings wife to the police report, not releasing the autopsy report, cremating the body without consent.

Obviously no one is trying to cover anything up, just business as usual.

Anyone who's reviewed the evidence of this case questions the validity of what the government is saying happened.  Eye witness reports, the refusal to release standard information to family members, the accident itself.  When everything is taken into account and you couple that with the damage he did to one of the most favored generals in the military, it would simply be illogical not to consider someone took him out for what he did.

Sounds like classic conspiratorial thinking.  If something is the least bit unusual and not easily explained, it must be a conspiracy theory.  Considering is one thing, but that not what CTers do.

Sometimes an accident is just an accident, but there's definitely more to this case than what's being let on. 

If there ends up being some nefarious cause, I truly doubt we will ever find out the who and what of it all anyway.  He had a huge target on his back and lot of people who weren't exactly upset when he died.

makes as much sense as a black man in a hoodie shooting zimmerman in the head and enjoying a bag of skittle 'n' ice tea. Then posing the whole thing on facebook And then wondering how the cops found him and acting all surprised
