I didn't know how they could do it at all, regardless of size of the film.  The charm of that book was the unique way the story was told, though interviews.  I didn't think they had a chance at capturing that.

Also, these zombies look fast.  In the book, slow speed played a huge role.

Ive seen every movie this summer and this is one of the best....Great popcorn movie. The ending did suck, but if you can overlook that it is an intense zombie/end of the world apocalyptic thriller.

The idea of the undead somehow running at superhuman speed makes no fucking sense, less sense even than the infrared existing in the 1st place. How are rotting corpses suddenly turning into supermen?

but the WWZ ant zombies are ridiculous.  they're worst than the powerhouse zombies in "I am Legend."

Walking dead has a nice concept of a viral infection causing the reanimation, which is plausible, if they are between life and death.  I've never read the comics.  Shane reanimated very quickly.  I don't think they are completely brain dead when the transformation process starts.  Brain death is the key. that's why the walking dead is so big on brain/head injuries before reanimation.

This is from Return of The Living Dead.  In that movie, it was brains that caused the pain to go away.
