Speaking of Westerns, one could make a marathon of the Peckinpah films, and have a good time.

Also "How The West Was Won" is a good long film.

Btw, I watched The French Connection for the first time a few months ago because they say it's a classic. One infuriatingly stupid scene after another. People must have been retarded in the 70s.
