What did Arnold think of Dorian Yates?

Arnold had half a physique (upper body) through his entire career (his legs couldn't place top 10 in a mid level amateur show today), while Yates had the most complete physique ever, as far as sheer muscle evenly distributed throughout his body (even had killer calves and forearms).  Arnold also had the back of a complete amateur, compared to Yates who took back development to the next level much like Platz did for legs...

well, you are not objective,  arnold s biceps and pecs were twice the size of dorians, while he used steroids only and yates took AS MUCH  igf 1, insulin, HGH as possible

They were completely different characters. Arnold was a pathological attention whore while Dorian hated the spotlight and wanted to be left alone in his dungeon gym in Britain.

I don't think those guys were buddies.

We all know how Arnold and Mentzer shared the luv between themselves.

Yates was a Mentzer pupil.

So two completely different camps of bodybuilding, each successful in their own right.

are you serious about Dorian, he had no arms fgs!  Arnold took a sport to the mainstream.  As for no back, better check some videos out.

and don't compare bodybuilders of different generations, it's just foolish.  the difference is the amount of drugs that current future dead bodybuilders take now.

He talked about this once in an interview, he said when he became Mr. Olympia he got some TV invitations but did not do them because instead of talking about the sport he would just have to get undressed and be presented as a freak or some kind of animal

True, I remember he got asked about that and he compared it to being treated differently from other sportsmen, i.e footballers - said that for example you wouldn't have Paul Gascoigne coming onto a talkshow dressed in his football kit juggling a football - you would have him in a smart suit and have him sit down and chat about things. Apparently talkshow hosts didn't want to do that with him so he told them where to go.
