And you have to ask this out loud? Your neck doesn't lift your hands above your head, so that's why you have delt's, which do the job. What comes that monster competitor fella, he has obviously seen that you are complete moron, and that's why he is feeding this bullshit to you. Hell yeah.   Press behind the neck makes my traps grow bigtime.  Always has.

No.  Any kind of upright press for me ends up making my traps grow more than my delts.  My traps explode from presses, far greater than shrugs.  Haven't shrugged in ages.  I have to isolate my delts to get them to grow.

I can only speak for myself.  For me, press behind the neck is an awesome trap exercise and an average shoulder exercise. For many, it's the opposite.  Depends on each individual.  But then again, I have always responded differently to traditional exercises than what's considered the norm.  For example, bench press makes my front delts and triceps grow crazy big and strong, but chest growth is average at best when I focus on bench press.  To get my chest to catch up, I do heavy flies.  I have certain body parts that just want to take over.  Traps take over when pressing upright.  Shoulders and triceps take over when pressing prone.  It's always been that way.  Just how my body is.   Another example is that my calves grow better from cycling on my bike then from traditional calf exercises, which is weird, but just how it is.  My calves are huge and ripped in the summer months when I am out cycling during the week, and I don't do any direct calf training in the summer at all.   In winter months, my calves lose a half and inch or so in size, and that's because I'm not cycling.  So in my case, traditional calf training is not beneficial as something such as cycling, which is not really something you consciously do for the purpose building calves, you do it for recreation.

i think this is not that uncommon, but people are just oblivious to the fact

Try rubber bands and work your back and side delts with slow/tense reps - 10-15 painful slow pulses for 3 sets.
After that rep out another set via standing presses(light weight & high reps) - pull back your shoulders to avoid raising them via your traps.

This could work for you if you're one of the shoulderless fellas(mechanically challenged) that tend to use their traps for everything.

i started doing delt only workouts

because it takes so fucking long to do delt + back


today i did

5x6-8 seated military barbell

5x8 seated dumbel press

5x10-12 bent over dumbel raise

5x10-12 side laterals

5x10-15 rear delt machine super set with 5x10-15 front dumbel raise hammer grip


after all that

i was in the gym for over one hr and called it a day


hopefully my delts will finally grow from 30 set workouts + steroids
