"For the two-time world champion, not even pulverizing Arnold Schwarzenegger's title record by walking away with a third win during September's Mr. Olympia competition in Las Vegas would be enough."

What on earth is the author referring to here?

"Q: So for you, what's the definition of the perfect body?

A: That's hard without saying 'myself!' As you can see, I have some sense of humor going on."

Brutally deluded self-perception, having to point out a joke one made as an indication that one has a "sense of humor" and still thinking one has a sense of humor.

Question: Tell me about your daily training regimen.
Answer: Well, normally, my day starts around 5 a.m., doing 30 minutes to 1 hour of cardio. Then after that, every 21⁄2 hours I eat high protein meals, which can usually be calculated to 5,800-6,400 calories per day. In between all of that, I do various methods of recovery — whether it be deep-tissue massage, acupuncture, sonic treatments ... you name it. Those are key for me to recover so I can hit the weights as hard as I can. Usually, I do one if not two 90-minute weight-training regimens. Toward the end of the day, I usually finish off another 30 to 40 minutes of cardio. So, six days a week, I usually work out. I can be in there morning, noon and night, collectively up to 3 to 31⁄2 hours a day. They all know me at the gym.

Q: When does a bodybuilder's desire to perfect their physique turn into an unhealthy obsession?
A: For me, I try to live a balanced lifestyle. I have a wife and kids. I don't distance myself from close friends.

See where you're coming from, but it's his 'dayjob' so any less than a few hours in the 'office'/gym, surely he's just messing about as a pro bb?

If I spent more than 1 hour a day training, i'd feel like I was unbalanced as a dad/husband, when you consider i'm working 40+ hours a week plus travel.......Philsulin on the other hand is a professional pageant princess  :D

balanced---takes time out to workout, mail stuff out to his fans, guest pose, go out with the wife, show the 18 yr kid how to do a wicked cross over. Look at the latest Kai Green video. Look at threads about Ramy on Getbig. Hop in Bentley/or whatever exotic car he has now, look at Sports Center, read some Deadspin about Hernandez, and wash, rinse and repeat.

a drugged up roid monkey such as Phil Heath should not be a role model for kids.

Adults is a different matter. They choose this bodybuilding "lifestyle" knowing it can kill them.
