Hagars work with montosse(sp?) and his solo material is far superior to his work with Van Halen. It must have been the VH brothers pushing in a softer direction because Hagars solo stuff is harder.

I enjoy select Van Hagar tunes, but generally I dislike Sammy and whatever it is he ushered into the Van Halen stew. Yes, corny is a good word.

The guy's a lightweight rocker. Red Rocker ...

Eddie wanted to become a more mature "songwriter" when Hagar joined. This just translated to a more poppy and tame version of the group.
