GGG wants Mayweather
« on: June 30, 2013, 09:24:04 AM »
IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (27-0, 24KOs) told BoxingScene.com that his dream fight is a showdown with the pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs). Mayweather challenges WBC/WBA 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Golovkin returned on Saturday night and destroyed Matthew Macklin in three short rounds, which he closed out with a wicked hook to the body.

Golovkin has said in the past that he's willing to drop down to 154-pounds to face Mayweather.

"This is my dream, this is my dream, this is a big present for me. This is business," Golovkin told BoxingScene.com.

oh brother, a stiff technical euro boxer. ::)  he's right up there with cuban  :( pros.  the FMW obnoxious clone would out point him.  at 37-38 why would fmw fight a guy who isn't a guaranteed 1M plus PPV draw when Mexicans have a good North American following?

you must be blind, or blind to the devastating power of this white fighter, floyd wont touch him with a barge pole, sergio will retire before a fight could be made, ... he's got concrete blocks for hands, he hurts every fighter he goes in with

i rate him so highly i think he could move up or down and win the lot..

im a big carl froch fan, he's got an amazing chin, but he's not beating this guy...

ward may have a chance if he fought him on home soil and ran from him all night, still think he'd catch him in the end

GGG should shoot for SAul Alvare after he gets destroyed on points by Mayweather. Austin Trout is a tall guy, 154 should be easy for him.

Ward and Froch can beat Golovkin

Wouldn't froch have to drop some weight then?

Golovkin has some weird physical dimensions:

height   5′ 10½″   /   179cm
reach   73½″   /   187cm

Mayweather would try to shoulder roll on GGG and GGG would dislocate his shoulder with a punch  ;D

There's nothing typical about him.  And Tszyu is a hall of fame fighter, so what's your point?

Lol Tszyu had no head movement and was robotic at times.
Couldn't fight on the inside too....he was decent.

GGG can fight on the inside, great at cutting off the ring, one punch KO power.

Different fighters.

He actually reminds me of a cross between Tszyu and Edwin Valero.

Tszyu hurt you from the end of his punches.

Ever see the Hatton fight? Hatton didn't give him room to set up his punches.

Mayweather beat Hatton on the inside, have to have that inside and outside game.

Guys like Tszyu, Kessler, Wlad, straight up euro fighters.....on the inside they can't fight.

The Tszyu that fought Hatton wasn't in his prime either.  Tszyu was a beast.

True but doesn't change the fact, he couldn't fight on the inside.

Remember Hatton was considered some euro hype job and Tszyu was gonna wreck him at the time.

I still think Hatton was a hype job.  But I get what you're saying.  But to dismiss Tszyu as a average fighter is wrong.
